Embracing the past, building the future
For decades, Merley Court has been a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Now, it embarks on an exciting new journey—offering exclusive residential park homes designed for comfort, security, and a true sense of community.
Known for its tranquillity, quality, and service, Merley Court has long been a cherished retreat, offering the perfect escape for those seeking serenity in nature. Since acquiring the park in 2006, Shorefield Holidays has successfully operated it as a premium holiday and touring destination, providing guests with a peaceful environment to relax and unwind.
Shorefield is a family run company that has stayed true to its routes dating back to 1958. It all started at ‘Shorefield Country Park’ in Milford-on-Sea and the company has grown from strength to strength, now operating eight parks across the stunning Hampshire and Dorset landscape. With over 65 years in business, we’ve proudly earned numerous awards along the way.
The landscape of Merley Court is evolving. With full planning approval secured for 99 luxury residential park homes, we are transforming this picturesque setting into a private, secure residential community. Each home is crafted with unmatched quality and design, setting a new benchmark in the industry. This development is not just about building homes; it’s about creating an exclusive lifestyle for residents who seek comfort, security, and a sense of belonging.
At the heart of this transformation are Wes and Todd—two industry professionals with years of residential park home experience. Shorefield Holidays has invested in their expertise to ensure Merley Court is developed with the highest standards, keeping the needs of residents at the forefront.
With a deep understanding of the industry, our team have taken their combined knowledge and experience to help design a park that overcomes common frustrations—eliminating the typical challenges faced in residential park living. From seamless layouts and infrastructure to the small details that make daily life easier, every aspect has been carefully considered to deliver a truly exceptional residential experience.

Assistant Residential Sales Manager
As an Assistant Residential Sales Manager, I handle customer enquiries with a friendly and approachable attitude, ensuring every interaction is informative and engaging. My goal is to make each visit a positive experience throughout the sales process. Additionally, my colleague Todd and I have been instrumental in the successful launch of Merley Court, always listening to customer feedback and delivering top-tier aftercare to ensure their satisfaction.
The quality. From my experience, it's incredible to see how much Shorefield Holidays invests in developing such a high-quality residential park. I’m especially impressed by the thoughtful design—it strikes a perfect balance between an open, welcoming atmosphere and a sense of privacy. The strong infrastructure and exceptional presentation only add to my enthusiasm for the development.
I’d have to say The Omar Ikon. Its contemporary design and layout really stand out. The modern kitchen and dining area create a spacious, social hub for entertaining, while the separate living room offers a cosy retreat for quieter evenings. At Merley Court, we understand that each customer has unique preferences, and with a wide range of layouts and designs from various manufacturers, we strive to provide options that suit everyone’s needs.
As a dog lover, I often head to Delph Woods. Its expansive mix of woodland offers the perfect setting for peaceful walks and family picnics. On occasion, my wife and I like to explore further along the Castleman Trail, which covers a large area from Upton to Ringwood. This scenic trail is easily accessible from Merley Court and offers a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.
When I’m not relaxing in a beer garden during the summer, I love playing golf at a variety of local courses with friends and family. As a golfer, having access to so many renowned and prestigious courses right on our doorstep is a dream come true.
'What is the difference between your Residential homes and a holiday home?' Ultimately, it comes down to the licensing granted under the official planning permission applied for by the park operator. Both homes can be built to the same quality, however, although you still lease the land from us, on a Residential Park with an official residential ‘license in perpetuity’, you have an indefinite right to that land for as long as you comply with the terms of the contract and park rules.
Assistant Residential Sales Manager
My role is heavily focused on meeting prospective buyers and providing them with a comprehensive understanding of residential park home ownership and everything Merley Court has to offer. I'm here to guide them through every step of the sales process, ensuring a smooth transition to their new life here. I also make sure everything runs seamlessly once they’ve settled in. In addition to this, my colleague Wes and I play a key role in overseeing the development of the park. We're responsible for selecting homes, determining their placement, and managing their configuration to create the best possible layout for our residents.
I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people, which makes this role a perfect fit—each day brings the opportunity to connect with someone new. Additionally, watching the evolution of the park has been extremely satisfying. It’s a pleasure to represent Shorefield in establishing their first residential park, as we share the same commitment to delivering the highest possible standard of finish to the development.
‘The Merley’ definitely has the ‘wow’ factor. It offers a stunning entrance, modern features, and a distinctive exterior finish, as well as a beautiful feature media unit with a 270 degree fireplace. Together with the amount of light and storage throughout, it's a design that takes your breath away! However, we understand that everyone has different tastes, and what works for one person might not work for another. That’s why we’re collaborating with a range of manufacturers to ensure there’s something to suit every preference here at Merley Court.
I love taking my dog for a walk along the River Stour. It's accessible on foot from Merley Court and is a lovely spot on a sunny day. There are many great walking areas locally, like Badbury Rings and Canford Park SANG (Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace). I have to say ‘Bennett's Bakery’ or an indulgent trip to ‘Jims Cheesecake’ in Wimborne are also guilty pleasures of mine!
Getting out for dog walks with my wife and socialising with friends and family is my official answer, although if truth be told, golf is my real love (please don’t tell the wife).
The most frequent question we hear is ‘can I live here all year round?’, to which the answer is a resounding yes! That is just one of the many fundamental differences between a residential park and a leisure park. Given these homes are built to last a minimum of 70-80 years you can enjoy the community spirit of the park in comfort. In addition, these homes cannot be rented and so you will always know who your neighbours are, giving you full peace of mind.
Park Warden
As a park warden, my role involves managing the daily operations of the park and overseeing a small team of staff. My tasks range from strimming and cutting to fixing broken equipment, repairing leaks, and handling various other routine maintenance duties.
The tranquillity of the park and its location makes it a great place to work.
One of my favourite residential homes is the Omar Ikon. It's well-built, modern, spacious, and gives me a true sense of home.
Wimborne is one of my favourite places to visit because it's lively and has just about everything you need. The view at Sandbanks is also incredible, with stunning panoramic scenery.
In my free time, I love going fishing. I also enjoy hiking through the scenic trails around Wimborne, and playing a bit of football whenever I get the chance.
One of the most common questions I receive from prospective buyers is, "Is the park a quiet place to live?" My answer is always an enthusiastic "Yes!" The park offers a peaceful, serene environment, making it an ideal place for those seeking tranquillity and a relaxed lifestyle.
