Linking with Avon Heath, Moors Valley, and Upton Country Parks, with cafes at each where you can stop off for refreshments, it is both a recreational and practical path. It can also be accessed from the rear of Merley Court, so if you decide to make Merley Court your home, you can enjoy direct access to this easy, level walking route all year round.

Wimborne to Pamphill Circular Trail (7.2 km)

Explore this 7.2 km circular trail walk near Wimborne; an easy and popular route for hikers, runners and walkers that takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes. Starting from Wimborne Minster, the trail follows the River Stour, crosses farmland, loops through woodland near Pamphill, and returns along the river. Expect muddy and slippery patches, especially after rain, so secure, waterproof footwear is recommended. Parking is pay-and-display at the trailhead.

Delph Woods Circular Woodland Walk, Poole (1.6 km)

Delph Woods is a wonderful place for a stroll. Being an easy 1.6-km circular trail near Wimborne, the route takes about 20 minutes to complete. Open year-round, it’s perfect for a walk with the family, or for birdwatching. The path winds through scenic woodlands, crosses small streams on footbridges, and includes grassy spots for picnics. Suitable for all ages, this peaceful trail offers a refreshing break in nature. Dogs are welcome, and can be off-leash in some areas, but must be leashed near cattle and during bird breeding season in the spring/summer from March 1st to July 31st. Limited free parking is accessible from Gravel Hill near Blackwater Drive.

River Stour, Laymoor Lane and Longham Lakes Circular (11.7 km)

This 11.7 km circular trail near Wimborne is an easy route that takes about 2.5 hours to complete. Ideal for hiking, running, and walking, it's a quieter path best enjoyed from January to October.
